Downloading files
You can use the download manager to view and manage files that you download.
Download a file
- Follow the link to download the file.
- In the window that opens, confirm the action.
You can monitor the download progress in the Android notification bar. To open the bar, swipe down from the top of the screen. When the download is complete, a message appears in the notification bar.
Stop, resume, or cancel a download
- Open the Android notification bar (swipe down from the top of your smartphone screen).
- In the line with the downloading file, tap
. - Tap Stop, Continue, or Cancel.
Open a downloaded file
In the notification bar
- Open the Android notification bar (swipe down from the top of your smartphone screen).
- Tap the file name.
- In the pop-up window, select the app to open the file with (you'll see this window if you haven't assigned a default app for this file type).
After the file opens, the download notification won't be shown.
In Downloads
Note
You can open Downloads in an active tab only.
- Open any tab.
- To the right of the SmartBox or inside it, tap
. - Tap Downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device download manager.
- Tap the file name.
- In the pop-up window, select the app to open the file with (you'll see this window if you haven't assigned a default app for this file type).
In Settings

On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings. - Go to Downloads → Open downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device download manager.
- Next to the file, tap → Open with... and select the app where you want to open the file.

- Open any tab.
- To the right of the SmartBox or inside it, tap .
- Tap Downloads.

A list of downloaded files opens in the device download manager.
Delete downloaded files

- Open any tab.
- To the right of the SmartBox or inside it, tap .
- Tap Downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device download manager.
- Next to the file, tap → Delete.
In Settings

On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings. - Go to Downloads → Open downloads. A list of downloaded files opens in the device download manager.
- Next to the file, tap → Delete.
Clear all downloads
To delete all downloaded files:

On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings. - Tap Clear data.
- Make sure Downloads is turned on.
- Disable all the other options (if you only want to clear your downloads).
- Tap Clear data.
- Confirm deletion.
Downloads folder
View the download path
By default, Yandex downloads files to the Downloads system folder. To view the default download path:

On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings. - Under Downloads, tap File storage directory.
Move the download folder to the SD card
If you have an SD card, you can store downloaded files there to save device memory. To do this:

On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings. - Under Downloads, tap File storage directory and select SD card.
The storage folder will change, but the files that you already downloaded will remain in the old location.
Move the downloads folder back to the phone storage
If you've moved your downloads to an SD card, you can download files to your device memory again:

On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings. - Under Downloads, tap File storage directory and select Phone.
The storage folder will change, but the files that you already downloaded will remain in the old location.
Save the page as a PDF file
- Open the page that you want to save.
- To the right of the SmartBox or inside it, tap .
- Tap Save as PDF.
This opens a standard app for printing and saving in PDF.
To open the saved PDF file, tap → Downloads in the active tab.
