Incognito mode
Use Incognito mode to keep your search queries and browsing secret. Yandex won't save your passwords, autofill data, search queries, history, or visited pages. Only the changes to settings, loaded files, and the materials you added to bookmarks will be saved.
Warning
Incognito mode doesn't make you invisible. For example, if you log in on a social network, other people will see you're online.
Switching to Incognito mode
On the home screen
- Tap
to go to home screen.
- Start entering your query in the SmartBox. Below the list of suggestions, an Incognito button will appear.
- Tap Incognito to open your query in a new tab in Incognito mode.
On a new tab

if three tabs are open).
- In the top menu, tap

Switching modes
You can simultaneously use regular and Incognito tabs in the app. This way, when you're in Incognito mode, you can always return to the tabs opened in regular mode. To do this:
- In the bottom menu, tap the tab counter icon (
if three tabs are open).
- In the top menu, tap the tab counter (
if you have seven tabs open).
To return to the Incognito tabs, enter the Incognito mode.
Exiting Incognito mode
Note
You can't turn Incognito tabs into regular ones, so they get closed when you exit Incognito mode.
Current Incognito tab:
- Tap the tab counter icon (
if three tabs are open).
- Swipe the page left or right or tap X in the upper-right corner of the tab.
All Incognito tabs:
- Tap the tab counter icon (
if three tabs are open).
- In the upper-right corner, tap
→ Close.
